Sup of the Lord Ministries has organized its congregation into Small Groups because we follow the Biblical pattern found in the New Testament (Acts 2:44-46; 20:20.) In Acts 2:46 it states, “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.” We believe that home meetings are essential to taking care of each individual person and family. It is in these meetings that one participates, grows, fellowships and helps take care of and provide for each other spiritually and naturally. We believe each home meeting should be joined hard to the Sunday service (temple) as stated in Acts 18:7. Furthermore, we believe it is healthier spiritually and naturally to take care of small groups from five to fourteen people in various homes and communities during the week. We also see that the first Passover for Israel was taken in homes.
In addition, small groups help strengthen individuals through greater accountability. Home groups are used to help make and develop disciples by reflecting on loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves (Luke 10:27.)
